FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - City crews will begin cutting down more than 100 trees throughout the downtown area Monday all because of a little beetle.

Officials have decided that since the Ash Borer has infested so many ash trees around the area the most-cost effective way to get rid of the killer insect is to chop the trees they attack.

Hardwood shade trees will be planted in the fall, replacing those that will be cut down.
