City Ash Tree Removal Begins

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- The City Fort Wayne has begun the process of removing ash trees.

The Fort WayneCity Council approved an ordinance for the planting of street trees by the City of Fort Wayne at a total cost of $302,189.

The city will be replacing one out of every three ash trees.

The city will begin removal of the trees starting on the southwest side of town, moving to the southeast side, then on to the northeast and finally northwest sides.

The planting of the replacement trees will begin in November.
