FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Fire crews are responding to a fire in the 2200 block of Coliseum a little before noon Tuesday.

FWFD responded after a call that there was an explosion at Hoosier Metal and there was black smoke coming from the facility. A bin where the facility compresses scarp cars and other metals in the back lot is reportedly what was on fire.

FWFD says the fire did not touch the building. Employees told FWFD that there was a small explosion in the bin that caught the other materials on fire. Crews worked with Hoosier Metal employees to take the burning material from the bin with a crane and extinguish the hot spots.

Coliseum was closed down in that area between Goshen Rd. and Lima Rd.

No injuries were reported.
