FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) -- Workers at boat manufacturing company, The Brunswick Corporation, are celebrating after christening the first boat to come off it's new assembly line.

Brunswick expanded and moved its operations from State St. to a 360,000-square-foot facility on Hadley Rd. Brunswick has been assembling pontoon boats in Fort Wayne for more than 50 years and officials say the $1.2 million investment to stay is well worth it.

"We have many open facilities throughout the country so there was obviously a lot of pressure to hey, go move into one of the buildings we already own," Brunswick Corp. President Nick Stickler said. "It makes sense, but between the help of the City and the State, as well as having real faith in what our employees can do here, we made the commitment and the large investment to stay here."

So far the expansion has added 27 full-time positions and the president says they plan to add up to 200 more by 2016.
