FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – The final hearing for a Fort Wayne man before his murder trial is occurring Tuesday and his attorneys are asking for him to be examined by a psychologist to see if he was insane at the time of the killing.

Police say 39-year-old Anthony Ochs used a baseball bat to beat his 42-year-old girlfriend, Susan Lombardi, to death at his home in April.

Lombardi died a couple days after being attacked April 13th in the home on High Point Run.

Ochs had called 911 saying he'd just beaten Lombardi in the head with a baseball bat after they'd been drinking and arguing.

Court documents show Ochs told police he didn't remember why he got so angry or how many times he hit Lombardi with the bat.

His trial for murder is scheduled for September.
