Blue Star Banner Presented To Returning Soldier (VIDEO)

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry presented a "Blue Star" Banner to a City of Fort Wayne employee who recently returned home from deployment.

Brian Kiess works in the public works division and was presented with the banner to keep. The banner was the first one displayed as part of the city's "Blue Star Banner" program to honor Fort Wayne residents and government employees who are actively deployed.

The banners are displayed on light poles along W. Jefferson Blvd. from the Time Corners Area to Swinney Park. When the service member a banner designates comes home, they are presented with it to keep.
