FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Charges have been formally filed against the Blackhawk Middle School teacher who is accused of having a sexual relationship with a girl who is now in high school.

38-year-old Justin Edwards has been formally charged with single felony county of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Class B felony. Edwards surrendered to police late Friday afternoon.

The girl told police the relationship began when she was a student at Blackhawk Middle School.

One of those instances is highlighted in the report filed by the Allen County Prosecutor's Office. It says that the girl, allegedly, had a sexual encounter with Edwards inside Blackhawk Middle School, inside the wrestling mat room.
