FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- While most of us are enduring the bitter cold, the Bishop Dwenger varsity cheerleading team is heading down to the Sunshine State.
The team is attempting to win their 9th consecutive National Cheerleading Championship title. They left Thursday morning to hop on a jet plane and will end up at Disney World. The team will compete Sunday in hopes of bringing home the trophy once again.
Not only will this be an honor for the team, but something for the school and cheerleaders to remember.
"It would be a really nice way to end our season," Head Coach Amy Gonzagowski told 21Alive. "This will be out last competition for the year and these girls have worked really hard and this would be a perfect way to end our season. They had such a great practice last night, I'm hoping for a repeat performance on Sunday."
We've covered this squad several times over the years and we want to take a moment and once again wish each and everyone of the members, coaches and sponsors, good luck!
