FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Osama bin Laden is dead.

The Al Qaeda leader and mastermind of the September 11th attacks was killed Sunday afternoon.

President Obama announced last night that Navy Seals shot bin Laden during a firefight at a compound in Pakistan.

His body has since been buried at sea, and was handled in Islamic tradition.

The State Department has put diplomatic facilities on high alert and issued a travel warning for Americans abroad, as a U.S. Homeland Security official said, quote, "we certainly anticipate threats of retaliation."

However, there is no increased security level at the Fort Wayne International Airport -- and we'll have more on that in just a moment.
