Bank Robbery, Pursuit, Ends With Suicide In N. Manchester

North Manchester, IND. (21Alive) - The Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department and Indiana State Police are investigating an alleged bank robbery and pursuit that ended in an apparent suicide in North Manchester.

Kosciusko County officials were notified shortly after 6 p.m. Friday that a suspect in a bank robbery was being pursued by a North Manchester officer on State Rd. 13.

Shortly after 6, the suspect stopped near the intersection of State Rd. 14 but refused to get out of the vehicle. Moments later, officers heard a gunshot from inside the truck.

When officers approached the truck, they found the male suspect suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Indiana State Police Peru District says the suspect entered the First Financial Bank of North Manchester shortly before 6 p.m. Friday.
The suspect robbed a teller and took off. That's when the police pursuit srarted.
