FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Ground was broken on the construction of the new BAE Manufacturing Operation on the south side of Fort Wayne today.

Executives from BAE and political leaders joined together to break ground on the new facility which will keep over 1,000 jobs in the summit city. Once the facility is finished, operations will move from BAE's Taylor St. location to the new location on Airport Expressway and Ardmore Avenue.

U.S. Senator Joe Donelly and U.S. Representative Marlin Stutzman joined Mayor Henry to be on hand for the celebration.
