FORT WAYNE, Ind. (NBC33) - One of the developing stories grabbing headlines around the Midwest is the inevitable winter storm headed our way with snow predictions expected to be in the range of six to ten inches. And that's not even the bad news. If you have not already purchased your snow shovel or a snow blower you may be out of luck.

Stores around Fort Wayne reportedly are trying to get in however much inventory they can get, but it likely will not last long. Because of that, some are beginning to improvise.

"As you run out of (snow) shovels, you go into your lawn and garden section and you look for square point shovels or grain scoops or anything that people can move a lot of snow with," says Michael Connelly, co-owner of Connolly's Do It Best. "That's what you start selling as you begin to run out of everything else. But so far we've kept ahead of it. Our hope is for an early spring and this stuff melts off by the end of February."

Area retailers reportedly have some products available here and there, but if you need all three items, you may have to shop around.
