AUBURN, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - An Auburn aluminum products plant will close early next year as the company looks to streamline operations.

Alcoa AFL Automotive, 1101 Oren Rd., will layoff its employees by March 2013, a company official confirms.

"This was a difficult decision made necessary by market conditions," Lori Lecker, corporate affairs manager for the Pittsburgh-based company, said in a release. "We wanted to give our employees as much notice as possible. We recognize how deeply this impacts them and we are working to support them through this transition process."

Lecker says 43 employees will lose their jobs as part of the shutdown.
