FORT WAYNE, Ind. (ww.incnow.tv) - At least four cars were involved in a crash Sunday afternoon on Magnavox Way and Illinois Road.
Police were called to the scene just before 3 p.m. Preliminary reports indicate that three of the four vehicles were heading eastbound on Illinois Rd., and were stopped at the traffic light at Magnavox Way. The fourth vehicle was also traveling eastbound on Illinois when it failed to stop at the same light and rear ended the other three vehicles.
A female adult was taken to a local hospital in stable condition. A 10 year-old girl was also taken to the hospital in serious condition, but has since been downgraded to critical. The male adult who rear ended the other cars was taken to the hospital on complaints of pain.
A portion of Illinois Rd. was closed while the Fatal Alcohol Crash Team investigated the crash and processed the scene. The lanes have since been reopened.
Investigators say they believe alcohol did not play a factor. This incident remains under investigation.
