Ascension Lutheran School Holds Veterans Day Celebrations

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - November 11th marks Veterans Day and multiple ceremonies are being held across the area.

One of the local events was held at Ascension Lutheran School in Fort Wayne, where students attended an all-school assembly, and sang patriotic songs.

The featured speaker at the event was Captain Daniel Gard, a naval chaplain and parent at the school.

He talked about his 22-years of serving as a military chaplain.

As part of the ceremony, the students gave the veterans in attendance ribbons they had made to mark the occasion.
