FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Hundreds of women gathered to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.
More than 300 women and little girls gathered for tea and crumpets, and a Matilda Jane fashion show at the Fourth Annual Tea House Gathering fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity Saturday afternoon at IPFW’s Walb Union International Ballroom.
There was also a table decorating contest and silent auction, all to raise money for Habitat's Women Build in the Fall. The Women Build is an all-female effort to construct a home from top to bottom for a local family in need.
“It's just about giving back and you always get back more than what you give. It just always works that way and you don't know why, but it just happens and it really--the thing about Habitat is you see a tangible difference in a very short period of time,” said Laurie Brumbaugh, Director of Development with Habitat for Humanity.
Brumbaugh says all the proceeds will benefit the women build house. She says she hopes nthe event will raise $60,000—enough to build a home.
