Animal Care & Control Imposter Van Spotted On NW Side Of FW

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- Animal Care & Control issued an release saying that a white van with Animal Care lettering has been reported to be driving slowly through neighborhoods and alleys in Fort Wayne.

Animal Care & Control describes the van as short in length with a rounded appearance and with bold, black lettering. The report states that animals were removed from back yards in the northwest area of the Summit City and that cats in the area are also believed to be missing.

Animal Care & Control says the van and its occupants are not connectd to the City of Fort Wayne or the Animal Care & Control Department and that anyone who sees this van or has any information about this van, should call 260-427-1244 or contact the police at 260-427-1222.

Pet owners are cautioned to stay with pets when they are outside and to not leave any animal unattended in a parked vehicle. Have pets microchipped for permanent identification. Search for a missing pet at the shelter and report found pets immediately.
