UNITED STATES (www.incnow.tv) - Talk of tougher gun laws creates a run on ammo.

Fearful of new weapon controls and alarmed by rumors of government hoarding, gun enthusiasts are buying up bullets. The run began in November with President Obama’s re-election. It really picked up when state and federal leaders began talking about tougher firearm laws following the shooting in Sandy Hook.

That was followed by false rumors that the federal government was buying massive quantities in order to keep them out of the hands of gun owners. Major U.S. ammo manufacturers are running shifts around the clock to try to meet increased demand.

In 2009, the year President Obama took office, a run on ammo prompted Wal-Mart to limit sales. Sportsmen and tradesmen say the current shortages are nationwide and the worst they’ve seen.
