MILROY, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – An Amish man who police said showed up at an undercover sting in a horse- drawn buggy has been charged with soliciting a 12-year-old girl for sex.

The 21-year-old Willard Yoder sent 600 texts, nude pictures and videos to the girl, saying he wanted to have sex with her.

The girl's mother discovered the texts and went to Connersville Police, who then set up a sting at a local restaurant.

When Yoder arrived in his horse-drawn buggy to meet the girl, he was arrested on four counts of soliciting a minor.

The girl’s parents acted as their daughter in order to keep communication with Yoder going until police could take action.

Police said that Yoder told them the sexting began when he sent out a random text and got a response.

Even though the Amish typically shun any technology, Milroy residents said they are used to seeing Amish people with cellphones.

Yoder has been released on bond but is set to appear in court in September.
