Allen County Library Expecting Funding Shortfall

ALLEN COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The Allen County Public Library is facing a $1.7 million loss in funding, next year.

The reason?

Officials say property tax caps, a slow economy, high unemployment, and a $750,000 decrease in the county-option income tax.

But library officials don't plan to cut hours as other communities have.

ACPL Director Jeff Krull said they're seeing an up-tick in usage.

He attributes that to the bad economy as people look for cheaper entertainment options.
