INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (www.nbc33.com) -- The same day that she was discharged from the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indiana, Alexis Fairchild was admitted to IU Health Methodist for complication from treatment to her injuries.
While things seemed to be looking up, her parents released a statement saying "Alexis has gone through surgery today and is in recovery" and the continue to say that "Alexis still has a long road to recovery."
Her physician said "Alexis had a postoperative complication from an emergency surgery she had at the time of her injury. This required a second surgery to treat a wound and will likely require further procedures. From a brain injury perspective, Alexis is recovering very well. This recent surgery will require a relatively short stay in the hospital to receive treatment with antibiotics."
