FORT WAYNE, Ind (21Alive) -- A 52-year-old man is in critical condition following a single vehicle accident on Friday night on I-69 in northern Allen County.

A preliminary investigation indicates that at approximately 11:30 p.m. a Freightliner driven by Norman D. Baker from Moulton, Alabama was traveling northbound on I-69 near the 317 mile marker in Allen County when it went off the east side of the roadway.

The vehicle struck at least one sign before finally coming to a rest in a ditch. Baker was found unconscious inside the vehicle by the responding emergency personnel.

Baker was rushed to Parkview Regional Medical Center in critical condition. The crash is believed to have been the result of a possible medical episode.
