Fort Wayne, Indiana (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- With more than 60% of the country and all of Indiana under a drought is there any help for farmers?
With each day, farmers across the nation are seeing their profits dry up because of the drought.
Wednesday, Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman announced she will be seeking a natural disaster declaration for all of Indiana's 92-counties due to the dry conditions.
Indiana Senator Dan Coats addressed the problem on the Senate floor, urging his colleagues to pass the Farm Bill to expedite aid that is so badly needed.
The bill is hung up in the House where they must decide whether to try to pass it, to back a one-year extension of current programs or to pass a pared-down drought assistance bill.
