INDIANA (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - One of the teachers identified for leaking the essay question on the ISTEP + test has received a half-day suspension with pay from their school district.

Authorities say the teacher taught for Clay Community Schools in Terre Haute.

It was estimated Thursday that the incident could cost Indiana taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars to re-figure test scores after the essay question is removed.

According State Superintendent Tony Bennett, teachers and administrators, responsible for the leak, are facing serious consequences that could cost them their teaching license.

The breach of security is likely the most widespread in the history of the standardized test.
