FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – The AIDS Task Force of Northeast Indiana holds its biggest fundraiser of the year.
Saturday afternoon, the AIDS Task Force held its 17th annual AIDS Walk with the theme "Vive Le Rouge" or "Long Live Red."
The group walked around downtown Fort Wayne in memory of those who have been lost to the auto-immune disease.
Task force Co-Chair Ronald Haas says the most important part of this event is community awareness.
“We really want to let people know that HIV and AIDS is here in our community, the AIDS Task Force serves over 400 clients in Northeast Indiana. We're seeing new infections all the time, so we really want to be out here to raise awareness, let people know how you get it, how you don't get it, how to reduce your risk,” Haas said.
At Headwaters Park, there were health vendors on hand, information booths, food and music.
