INDIANAPOLIS (Indiana's NewsCenter) - An Indianapolis couple is behind bars for keeping their child outside in the heat too long.

Jacob Cotton and Lindsay Ramon were arrested on neglect charges after police say the two were panhandling (begging) with their 2-year-old daughter while temperatures were in the upper 80's on Sunday.

The girl was hospitalized with heat problems.

She's now in state custody.
