LAFONTAINE/ MARION, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - The family of a murder victim is asking the public to come celebrate the woman's life, before the criminal case goes to trial.
One year ago, Lisa Pattison of LaFontaine died from asphyxia due to neck compression, after her husband claimed he came home to find a barbell across her throat.
A Wabash County Grand Jury indicted Scott Pattison on a charge of murder.
The morning of July 16th, a memorial will be held at the Marion Mall where Lisa Pattison worked.
Featured there, a granite bench with her picture on it.
Lisa Pattison's Mother Lucy Rich says, “They're going to have it displayed in the mall, so if people want to come and sit down and possibly maybe another abused woman might want to sit down and just think about her life."
Reporter: "And maybe make some decisions?"
Lucy Rich: "Yes, yes definitely."
Scott Pattison is set to stand trial in late October.
