NOBLE COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- A 10th person, who was hiding in a crawl space, was arrested while police were serving a search warrant for a property in Albion.
Noble County Prosecutor announced Friday that on June 20th, a search warrant was issued for the property located in the 3800 block of South State Road 9 in Albion. The property is known to be the residence of Randall L. Katz, Age 44.
The search warrant authorized law enforcement officers to search the property for controlled substances, items related to the manufacture of methamphetamine, firearms, U.S. Currency, and surveillance equipment. Following an early morning briefing on Friday, law enforcement officers from the Noble County Special Operations Group; Northeast Indiana SWAT Team; and the Indiana State Police SWAT Team arrived at the location to serve the search warrant.
The search warrant was obtained after a lengthy joint investigation between the Indiana Multi Agency Group Enforcement (I.M.A.G.E.) Drug Task Force, the AllenCounty Drug Task Force, and Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms.
At this time the only person with formal criminal charges pending in Noble County is Randall L. Katz. Early Friday morning Prosecutor Clouse filed criminal charges in Noble Circuit Court while officers began to execute the search warrant at the Katz residence.
The charges filed are: Dealing in Methamphetamine, class B felony; Conspiracy to Manufacture Methamphetamine; and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, class D felony.
The dealing charge alleges that Randall L. Katz sold methamphetamine to another person on June 6, 2013 and that on June 20, 2013 Katz agreed with another person to manufacture methamphetamine. The charges further allege that Katz maintained his property as a, “common nuisance.”
No bail has yet been set for Katz and a court appearance is not expected until early next week. Additional charges may be filed against Katz depending on the results of the search being conducted at the property.
Eight others located at the residence were arrested along with Katz. Tasha Bratten, 23, Stana Butler, 31, Shanelle Byrer, 19, Austin Centers, 19, Mary Jean Howard, 45, Anthony McClellan, 22, Mark Morr, 44, and Stephanie Sandusky, 34 were all arrested.
The exact nature of the charges filed against all persons arrested on this date will be determined after Prosecutor Clouse meets with investigators to review the results of the investigation.
