MARION, Ind. (21Alive) -- A house fire claimed the life of an 82-year-old Marion man Sunday.

The Grant County Coroner pronounced David Fox, 82, dead in his home in the 1200 block of E. 29th St. following a fire.

Investigators believe the fire may have been caused by a cigarette Fox was smoking while lying in bed. A neighbor stated that Fox suffered from cancer and struggled to get out of bed on his own.
