FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - More tornadoes apparently hit our region than initially believed.
The National Weather Service now estimates 11 tornades touched down in Indiana and northwest Ohio during Tuesday's storm, up from the 7 that were originally reported.
The new evidence indicates two EF1 tornadoes hit northeast Allen County, one of them near Grabill. A EF0 tornado struck Kosciusko County and a EF1 tornado started in Van Wert County, Ohio and moved into Paulding County.
The Weather Service's had first estimated 7 weak tornadoes hit in Howard, Huntington, LaPorte, Wabash, Whitley and Van Wert Counties on Tuesday.
Numerous homes and businesses, as well as vehicles, trees and utility poles, were damaged or destroyed by the tornadoes. No injuries were reported in any of the cases.
