FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) – It was another record-setting weekend at the Fort4Fitness race!
About 28,000 participants and spectators filled Parkview Field and downtown Fort Wayne Saturday morning for the 6th annual race.
More than 9,000 people took part in Saturday's races, which included a half marathon, a 10k, and a four-mile run. Courses took runners through the streets of downtown and finished up at home plate of Parkview Field.
It was a fun day for everyone involved.
"The nice thing about this is that everyone becomes friends on the course, and folks are cheering for other strangers, calling you often by name because of that which is on the bib, but especially when we see the green shirts at the various stations cheering for us it's pretty special. And here in center field as we gather after the race, there's nothing like coming into the stadium and seeing the sea of green cheering for you,” said Dave Deselm with Fort4Fitness.
But, the race wasn't all about having fun. Fort4Fitness has become a year-round platform for supporting healthy living and fitness.
