KOKOMO, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) – Layoff notices are being handed out at Grissom Air Reserve Base.

More than 470 civilian employees have been placed on furlough thanks to sequestration. So far, $30 billion have been trimmed from the Armed Forces annual budget for the year.

Employees at Grissom, approximately 12 miles north of Kokomo, Ind., will take 11 unpaid days beginning Monday through Sept. 30.

The Department of Defense estimates the furlough at Grissom alone will cost workers $1.5 million in salary.
