$2.3 M Awarded To Family For Wrongful Death

DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - A Fort Wayne man charged with murdering his girlfriend must now compensate her family.

A DeKalb County judge ruled in a wrongful death lawsuit that Ronnie Jones must pay Melissa Kay Patrick's family more than 2-million dollars to make up for a loss of love, care and parental guidance to her 3-children.

Jones is charged with shooting and killing Patrick in Auburn last New Year's day.

He remains jailed in DeKalb County as he awaits trial in the criminal case.
