Caught on Camera: Dozens of Tornadoes from Wednesday Night

SOUTH (Indiana’s NewsCenter) - The average number of tornadoes in the month of April is 168, so far in 2011 that number is at 600 and still counting.

States recently hit by tornadoes include Virginia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.

The current death toll stands just over 200 and is expected to rise as individuals once reported missing are found dead under storm debris.

The tornado that passed though Tuscaloosa, Alabama is believed to have been about half-mile wide and classified as an EF5. 83,000 residents are now reported homeless in Tuscaloosa.

That same storm cell traveled about 350 miles into Georgia and caused significant damage there as well.
