DEKALB COUNTY, Ind. (21Alive) -- 36-year-old Jerone Dunams, of Gary, and 29-year-old Ryan Self, of Chesterton, face theft charges after State Police say the duo was stealing copper wire from light poles along I-69 in DeKalb County.

According to police, two troopers following up leads, spotted Dunams and Self stopped along the shoulder area and putting something into the bed of a pick-up truck.

They were later pulled over and police say they were found in possession of 10 rolls of insulated copper wire. Further investigation determined that wires had been cut from four light poles.
