Lahey Named New Fort Wayne Fire Chief

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Eric Lahey has been named the new chief of the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

Mayor Tom Henry, D-Fort Wayne, introduced Lahey at a news conference Tuesday morning.

He will take the oath of office Mon., June 2.

Lahey is a Fort Wayne native, and has been a firefighter since 1996. He serves at Station No. 11, 405 E. Rudisill Blvd. He graduated from Concordia Lutheran High School and attended IPFW and Ivy Tech Community College

Lahey is an Army veteran, and was honorably discharged in 1992.

Lahey replaces Amy Biggs, who resigned last week, as first reported by 21Alive. Biggs' resignation is effective Sun., June 1.
