FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - A tool used to detect power lines caused a suspicious package investigation Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities were called to the Taco Bell, 340 W. Jefferson Blvd, around 2:00, and closed off the area surrounding the restaurant.

Fort Wayne bomb squad technicians determined the item was a transmitter used to locate and mark underground power lines.

There is an upcoming construction project on Ewing Street that needed the use of the transmitter.

All clear was given just before 3:00.
