VAN WERT, Ohio (21Alive) - The Federal Aviation Administration awarded Tuesday funds to Van Wert County Regional Airport Authority for the county airport, according to the office of U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio.

Van Wert County Airport will receive $180,246 for improvements to the facility. Money will go towards removing some tree obstructions on the two runway approaches and to install a new runway guidance system.

Brown says the federal infusion of money will help airport travel and have a positive impact on neighboring businesses.
