BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (21Alive) - An Indiana University student died Saturday morning after falling down a flight of stairs Friday morning.

Rachael Fiege, 19, of Zionsville, fell during a party between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Friday inside a house in the 800 block of N. Park Ave, university police say. Other people in the house heard Fiege fall, police say, and monitored her throughout the early morning hours. She was found unresponsive around 7:30 a.m. Friday, and that's when police were first called, IUPD says.

Fiege was taken to a Bloomington hospital unconscious and in critical condition. She was taken off life support early Saturday morning, and died.

Fiege was a pre-nursing student at IU, and moved into an on-campus residence hall earlier in the week, school officials say.
