FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) - Another local group is aiming to end gun violence in the Summit City.

The Fort Wayne Chapter of Organizing For Action held a candlelight vigil Wednesday night near the Adair Federal Building & Courthouse downtown.

"I think the general consensus is that they're fed up, and they're sick of seeing people die from guns," Amanda Henry, a volunteer for the Organizing For Action, volunteer. "Whether they know what steps to take, they want some form of action."

The vigil served to remember victims of gun violence, and support more extensive background checks to keep weapons from ending up in the wrong hands.

There has been 28 homicides in Allen County so far in 2013, according to the coroner's office.
