FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Two men were shot Friday night in front of a home in the 4000 block of Avondale Dr.

Around 10:15 p.m., a group of people were in front of a house between Baxter Avenue & Rudisill Boulevard, when a gunman walked up between two homes and open fired, according to police.

A motive for the shooting and relationships between victims and shooter are not known, police say.

"He fired into the group," Officer Chris Felton with the Fort Wayne Police Department says. "As opposed to walking up to someone in particular and opening fire."

Police say one victim collapsed in the yard, and the other ran across Avondale Drive before he collapsed.

The two victims were taken to a hospital. Willie Martin, 39, was last listed in critical condition; the Carleon Ragsdale, 27, is in serious condition.

Police describe the suspect as a man in a white T-shirt, black shorts and white and black shoes. A police K-9 track was unsuccessful at the scene. No weapon has been retrieved, either.

A portion of the 4000 block of Avondale Dr. was closed for the investigation.
