LAGRANGE COUNTY, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - A 29-year-old woman from Hudson was arrested late Friday night on multiple charges, including four counts of neglect of a dependent, after leading an Indiana State Trooper on a short pursuit in northeast LaGrange County.
According to Senior Trooper Deven Hostetler, last night at approximately 11:00 p.m., he attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on County Road 650 N near County Road 1100 E. The driver of the vehicle accelerated and continued westbound on 650 N and then northbound on 1100 E. During the short pursuit, the passenger of the vehicle was said to have been throwing items out of his window.
Five minutes into the pursuit, the vehicle finally stopped, after having driven on a flat tire, on State Road 120 and County Road 475 E. The driver, Jilyan Janelle Snyder, who was taken into custody without incident, had her four children ages 6-13 in the vehicle with her at the time. Their custody was transferred to a family member and the male passenger was not charged at the time. An unknown amount of methamphetamine was located inside of Snyder’s purse at the time of her arrest.
Snyder was arrested on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent (four counts), resisting law enforcement, and possession of methamphetamine. She also had arrest warrants issued for her out of Noble County for possession of methamphetamine and visiting a common nuisance.
