DETROIT (www.incnow.tv) - General Motors is planning a large investment in plants across North America.

Mark Reuss, president of GM North America, says the company will invest $1.5 billion towards new product development.

Reuss did not provide any other details in a speech to Automotive News World Congress on Wednesday night.

GM already has pledged $2 billion in investments in May of 2011.

It is unclear at this point how much Fort Wayne's GM plant will benefit from the investment. The plant makes Silverado and Sierra pick-up trucks.
