FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21ALIVE) - The 122nd Fighter Wing has a new leader.

Indiana National Guard Adjutant General, Major General R. Martin Umbarger, announced Wednesday that Col. Patrick R. Renwick will replace Col. David Augustine as Commander of the 122nd Fighter Wing.

The change will take effect on September 13.

Renwick currently serves as the Vice Commander of the 181st Intelligence Wing in Terre Haute.

Renwick came to the Indiana National Guard in 1998. At the 181st, he has served as the Weapons and Tactics Officer, Assistant Flight Commander, Squadron Chief of Training, Wing Chief of Safety, Maintenance Squadron Commander and Air Support Operations Squadron Commander.

Augustine served the Indiana Air National Guard for nearly 32 years. He has been commander of the 122nd since January of 2011. Augustine announced his retirement earlier this year, citing medial issues.
