FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) -- Could a police report shed some light about why a popular high school football coach was fired?
Bishop Luers football coach and athletic director Matt Lindsay was fired Sunday for what the principal called " violations of school and diocesan policies, and his violations of his employment contract obligations."
Now a police incident from 2011 will fuel speculation.
The names have been blacked out in a police report that was filed in August of 2011, but a police department source confirms to us the name on the report is Matt Lindsay.
We have to make clear that Lindsay was never arrested and charges were never filed.
In August of 2011, an officer was called to the Glenaqua pool on the report of a suspicious person.
Dispatchers received a call that Lindsay was allegedly taking pictures of girls or recording video of them on his cell phone at the pool -- something that Lindsay denied.
The report says that when a girl's father followed Lindsay to his minivan, the father told the officer Lindsay's hands were shaking and that he was rapidly deleting pictures from his phone, then drove away.
A board member of the pool arrived and told the officer that nearly a dozen parents had made similar complaints in the past, including putting a camera in a bag and taking pictures of young boys and girls in a locker room.
No police reports were ever filed in those incidents.
As for this incident, the police report says the office visited Coach Lindsay at Bishop Luers and did not find any inappropriate pictures on the coach's phone.
The report says Coach Lindsay also denied taking any pictures like that.
The report goes on to say that Lindsay told the officer that a parent approached him several years ago who thought he was taking pictures on his cell phone.
But Lindsay said he told the parent he was reviewing football plays on his phone at the time.
