Man Critical After Standish Drive Shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Indiana's NewsCenter) - Fort Wayne police are investigating a shooting Saturday night near the corner of Standish Drive & Fairfax Avenue.

The man shot, 34-year old Antonio Hamlet, continues to improve his condition at the hospital.

Officers found Hamlet suffering from an apparent gunshot on Standish Drive around 8:30 p.m. The Hamlet was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police say witnesses report seeing the Hamlet walk along the side of the road, when a vehicle approached him. A suspect got out of the car, and open fired on him. The suspect then got back in the car, and fled northbound on Standish.

The vehicle is described as a silver-colored passenger car.
