FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) - Fort Wayne will host four regional record-setting youth sports tournaments expected to bring in $1 million dollars on January 19th and 20th. The top-rated facilities and dynamic local advocacy continued Fort Wayne's success of bringing quality sporting events to the community.
The weekend's largest event will be the Gym Rats MLK Classic at Spiece Fieldhouse. It's the 10th year of the popular tournament, where an estimated 3,500 basketball players from across the Midwest will compete over two days. You can find out more about the tournament at www.gymrats.com.
The second tournament will be The Fort Wayne MLK Challenge. This event will be held at The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum and SportOne Parkview Fieldhouse from January 19-21. The FWA Winter Classic Invitational is a three-day competitive swimming event consisting of Indiana's top 200 swimmers. This event will take place from January 18-20 at the Helen P. Brown Natatorium. Meet times and awards ceremony information can be found at www.ftwayneaquatics.com.
Hosted by the Fort Wayne Fever, the 11v11 Indoor Challenge Tournament will be held at the Plex South from January 18-20. The event will showcase talents from an estimated 1,000 soccer players from Indiana, Michigan, Nebraska and Illinois. It is a three-day, round-robin tournament.
