Washington D.C. (www.incnow.tv) - One of the options for women who carry the genetic mutation for breast cancer is preventative mastectomy. It's a radical move...but experts say it is the right move for some.

That includes one contestant in the Miss America Pageant. 24-year-old Allyn Rose, Miss District of Columbia is considering the move because she recently tested positive for the gene.

Her mother died of the disease after being diagnosed at just 27.

Miss Rose will keep her natural breasts until after the pageant in January.

She currently has no symptoms but is using her position to draw attention to the disease.
