FORT WAYNE, Ind. (www.incnow.tv) -- In this week's episode of Cool Science Monday, Martin Fisher from Science Central will talk about Tornado in a Jar, a make-n-take activity that can also be done at home.

A tornado is a vortex; a spinning column of material. A tornado is a vortex of air, and a waterspout is a vortex of water. This activity uses a clear, plastic jar (don’t want to drop a glass jar and deal with broken glass). Fill it about 2/3 with water, add a drop of liquid soap and a drop of food coloring. Spin it in your hands, and it produces a vortex.
