FORT WAYNE, Ind. (21Alive) -- This week's episode of Cool Science features Martin Fisher talking to you about air pressure.
Martin placed a Peep in a vacuum chamber (a flat plate, with a glass jar around it). He then connected it to a vacuum pump. When he removed the air from the chamber, the air pressure in the chamber decreased.
It reached a point where the pressure in the Peep was greater than the pressure in the chamber. This caused the Peep to swell and expand. When I let the air back into the chamber, the pressure increased as the air rushed in, pressed on the Peep, and the Peep was small again.
